The virgin land of Arunachal Pradesh is rich in flora and fauna. The topography of the state has enabled in such a wonderful set of greenery in the entire state. Arunachal thus boosts several wild life parks.

Namdhapa National Park
Namdapha National Park Headquarters of Changlang district, Miao is situated on the Indo-Burma border. The Namdapha National Park is a few kilometers away from Miao. For the truly dedicated wilderness and wildlife fan, a visit to the Namdapha National Park is challenging, covering a wide range of altitudes from 200 metres. - 4,500 metres. The park largely inaccessible has diverse habitats and flora and fauna that are typical of this area. The majestic gaur or mithun, elephant, Himalayan black bear, takin, the wild goat peculiar to the Patkoi range, musk deer, slow loris, binturong and the red panda are all found here. The predators include the tiger, leopard, a rare snow leopard and clouded leopard in the higher reaches of the hills. A number of primate species are seen in the park, such as the Assamese macaque, pig-tailed macaque, stump-tailed macaque and the distinctive hoolock gibbon. Hornbills, jungle fowl, pheasants etc. are also found amongst other coloured bird species. The inaccessibility of the greater part of the park has helped to keep the forests in their pristine state.

Namdhapa is the home to one of the most unusual wildlife sanctuary in India. The vast bio-diversity of the forest makes it an ideal place for several species of flora and fauna life. The altitudinal variation and tropical climates makes it an ideal home for the animals. Namdhapa is the home of four great cats, tigers, leopard, snow leopard and clouded leopard. It is also the natural habitat of endangered Takin, Hoolock Gibbon, Red Panda and Capped Langur. The sanctuary with its 150 variety of trees and herbs has rich medicinal resources. The national park is also the free zone for hornbill the state bird of Arunachal Pradesh.
